Various Venues That Held MMA Events

Over the last decade, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has become extremely popular with MMA organizations popping up all over the world such as the UFC. Given the popularity of MMA, these events now draw large audience as mainstream sports. As a result, these MMA events need venues that can accommodate the large number of fans.

MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas

Located in the MGM Grand Casino on the Vegas Strip, this venue has a capacity of over 17,000. Opening its doors in 1993, the arena is a multi-purpose site with many different types of sporting events highlighted here including several UFC events. In 2010, at UFC 116, interim champion Shane Carwin was defeated by Brock Lesnar in a heavyweight title fight.

Staples Center, Los Angeles

The Staples Center is a large venue in Downtown Los Angeles which is capable of hosting 21,000 fans for MMA events. It has been the site of three UFC events with the most recent occurring in 2015. Headlining at this event was female MMA star, Ronda Rousey and top contender, Cat Zingano. Rousey adeptly defeated her opponent in the first round to emerge as the victor.

Bell Centre, Montreal

With a capacity of 23,000, this venue has been ideal for hosting MMA events. The UFC has appeared here multiple times including the first UFC event to ever be held in Canada. This initial event featured a rematch between Welterweight champ Matt Serra and Georges St-Pierre, a native of Montreal. The event sold out in less than one minute. Not only is it used for MMA but also is home to the Montreal Canadiens hockey team and the site of other major sporting events.

As MMA events such as UFC continue to gain popularity it’s no surprise that there are some games inspired by the sports, which are available at a mobile casino, further increasing the visibility of the sports by reaching to new audience. Due to these developments, it will undoubtedly be able to keep filling seats in major sporting venues around the world.
